A conclusion I can make about the target audience of Shutter Island is that its a male audience with a high class grade who is relatively young at between the age 20-35.
Target audience for 'The Dark Knight Rises'
A conclusion I can make from The Dark Knight Rises is that it has a similar type of demographic to Shutter Island. Which is a male, young aged audience who is of a high class and enjoy watching Russel Howard Good News.

Our group remade the opening of the movie 'Collateral'. What turned out to be a 25 second piece took hours of filming and editing to perfect.
Shots-
At first, the shots were very easy to take notes of and we had no trouble recognising what the shots were and how to recreate it in the remake. However since not all of our group was there at the planning stage, it was very hard to articulate what the different shots were, when they couldn't actually see the opening of the movie collateral. This lead to multiple communication problems and arguments about what the actual shot was. So overall for shots, it was easy to note down the different shot types, but it was a problem when trying to record the remake, when all of the group
had diverse opinions.
Storyboard- The storyboard was relatively easy to draw each shot and Onat Arslan had no problem in drawing up the different scenes with detail. However there was a problem on the amount of shots on the storyboard. As we had a short time to illustrate the different scenes, there wasn't as much d
etail in the writing aspect of it. We should of included more writing as it would of been much more useful when creating the remake, so we would of had a better understanding and less communication problems. To conclude, the next time we as a group try to make a remake or our own piece, we will try to create a storyboard with a lot more literature so we have less problems in the production.
Location and Costume Choices-
The location of our remake was very important to make the production very similar to the original.
The location of our production was outside the college next to the turn stalls. This was in my opinion the best location to use, as it was in a public area were there was people walking by, which is what happened in the movie 'Collateral'. This greatly impacted our final product as it made the remake almost indistinguishable to the original piece. However it was also a hassle being out in a public area as we had to wait multiple times for people to walk by which slowed down the production process.
For costume choices we didn't have many options as we couldn't get 2 two suits for the actors to wear in such short notice, so the only costume choice we had were sunglasses which Abdi Nooh was wearing as he played the role of Tom Cruise. Overall the location choice was an obvious, and even though it was troubling to always stop in the middle of a scene, it was worth it. Costume choices were limited however it didn't really effect our remake as the costumes did really tie into the characters persona.
Editing-
Editing played a huge part in our remake. The editing out of all the roles in the remake took hours to put together the scenes but in the end it was worth it. When editing the difficulty lied in were to begin. We had so many scenes and so little time that it seemed impossible to finish. However, after multiple visits to lunch time workshops I finally almost finished my final piece. I used multiple effects and video transitions to make the scenes look seamless which in the end did work out. I used a blur called the 'Gaussian Blur' which blurred the background and focused the audiences attention to the main character. I also incorporated the video transition of 'Dip to Black' which was very effective when switching between the two main characters. Another video transition I used and which I personally enjoyed was 'Cross Dissolve'. This was when the two scenes next to each other on the time line are merged together to get an almost split screen effect which was very useful when I used it in the collision scene, when the two actors bump into each other.
Overall, when editing using Premier pro there was a time strain as it took multiple hours to put together a 25 second piece, and when there is only specific times you can edit it outside class did make it hard to do alone. However I think that the editing was the most successful part of the production and even though it was hard, I was glad to see my perseverance paid off at the end.
Titles- The title credits were relatively hard to make. This is because it was hard to place the titles on the screen when there was moving scenes (intergrated) as a person could easily block the visibility of the titles. Also another difficulty was that it was hard to save the black font on the black screen as you wouldn't know were the titles would go making it very hard and exhausting to use Adobe After Effects. When deciding the font It was a obvious choice as I chose Ariel Black in bold with a font size of about 16. This was an obvious decision as the font colour juxtaposed the background making the title credits bulge out into the audiences vision. This made the font very succesful as it was very eye grasping as it did stand out compared to the scene. The font did suit the tone of the film as the films beginning was very mysterious, and thus the black titles did blend into the overall atmosphere of the movie making the titles suit the moving images. Overall it was very hard to use Adobe After Effects when trying to impliment titles into the title sequence, and intergrating titles was very hard to do, however the choice of font, colour and size was a good decision and did really put the remake together.
If I was to complete the task again I would definitately try to learn how to use after effects and premier pro before starting the production so that I am much more efficent in my editing. Another element that I would do differently is that I should have more detail in the shot by shot remake so that It gives a clear example and builds a mental image in our groups head so that we are all on the same page. Apart from these aspects, I think the remake when relatively well and I look forward to making the real production piece.
Genre of a film follows the same pattern of literary genres. The genre of a film is the theme and mood it conveys. There can also be things known as sub-genres and hybrid genres where there are elements of more than one genre within the film. Sub-genres have elements of another genre while still having a main genre (action thriller) while hybrid genres are mixtures of two genres. They are determined determined by many things including: the music played, the camera angles, the lighting, the film opening titles (font), character behaviour and editing. Codes & conventions (signs which create meaning) and genre tropes can also be used to highlight genre.
This is from my favourite film, from the genre of action, "fast and furious 7". In thisscene, there is a fight going on between two of the main characters. The scene is made tense and dramatic by many factors. The low lighting creates a tense atmosphere while the bright lightson the two characters emphasises the action,. The two men have theirarms erect in a striking stance. All this creates an adrenaline rushand entertainment for the audience.
Another one of my favourite genres is comedy. This is a scene from the film "Ride Along" which is a comedy film starring Kevin Hart. I prefer to watch these comedy films because they make me laugh and also have famous comedians acting in them which appeals to people who enjoy comedy. I can infer that this is a comedy film from the facial expressions of the actors, a very recognisable image.
The third genre of film that I enjoy is biographical films because they contain can be a source of information and learning in a fun way. They usually make the audience feel certain emotions towards the characters of the films. In this film, "12 years a slave", we are made to feel sympathy for the characters through character behaviour, music, lighting and camera angles.
1. Blank screen- this is a very simple film opening and it is when the titles roll on the screen over a blank image (possibly a black screen). An example would be from "Donnie Darka".
2. Traditional- (Narrative) is when the imagery used in the opening is part of the film and setting. The set is introduced as the titles roll. An example would be "Rush Hour 2". This is my favourite type of film opening as it keeps you interested because of the questions it brings up about the rest of the film.
3.Discrete- These are openings separate to the actual film, like a mini film before the start of the actual film. It helps to create a suitable atmosphere for the start of the film. an example would be "se7en".
4. Stylised- A heavily edited, stylish, opening. An example would be "mesrine". There are multiple camera shots of the main character at the same time which gives us an impression that he is being watched carefully and sets an atmosphere.
The importance of sound is often neglected by film audiences, as film is
often seen as a visual medium, however all it takes is one click of the mute
button to make the viewer realize how much films depend on sound to transmit
emotion. There are many reasons why sound is so vital in film making and they
are. Sound
is a great way for the director to introduce the tone and genre of a movie as
viewers have come to associate specific music types to certain genres. Action,
for example, usually contain a fast-paced opening song with the sound of
vehicles or someone running. The audience will instantly know what type of film
they are watching and immediately become more familiar to the movie
Ambient Sound- Background sound pressure level at the given location
Score - Part
of the opening sequences soundtrack
Voice-over -Piece of a narration.
Dubbing - Mixed
recordings added onto the original soundtrack
Foley - Everyday
sound effects which are added to the film
Synchronous - Sound
matched to movement in the scene.
Asynchronous-Sound that contrasts an image.
Sound bridge -Sound connecting two scenes.
Sound Motif -Sound effects which are associated with a
particular character, setting or situation
There are a lot of genre conventions in comedy. In comedy there are actors that are genre tropes in comedy such as Jim Carey who features in a lot of funny films. When you see Jim Carey name, you instantly know that the movie has a comedy side to it because Jim Carey featured in funny movies such as Bruce Almighty.
Action
There are many genre tropes in action films too. You see the same actors feature in different action movies. Tom cruise features in movies full of action such as Mission Impossible and Top gun. Seeing Tom cruise in the opening or advert you instantly know the movie is going to be action packed. There are other actors such as Vin diseal who also features in a lot of action movies and is heavily connected with action movies. In action movies you see genre tropes such as shootouts, weapons and car chases.

The key plot is too show Pablo escobar was a powerful man with a lot of resources that had a lot of enemies including the government. The order the story line was that it showed how Pablo first his business by exporting drugs to america and as the the film goes on, Pablo gets more rich and powerful. The characters introduced are Pablo Escobar and his friends. The officer and government officials. Pablo and his friends are displayed not as a criminals, there displayed as rich people having fun and the officer and his people are displayed as serious.

Macro Analysis
The key plot is to show that James Bond is a suave but yet dangerous man who would go great distances to save people and that he rides solo and has no one with him besides himself. The order is that It starts by showing straight away that Bond has to use weapons and as it goes on, the violence level raises. The only people introduced are James bond and girls dancing.
Genre is used in media to categorize different sorts of media forms so that the audience have an idea of what there watching. Film makers tend to make movies with the most popular genres such as comedy, thriller and action. There are also sub genres which is when there's a genre in a genre so for example, in the genre of horror, a sub genre would be sci-fi
.
I like genres such as gangster films. In this picture, it is clear and obvious what the genre of this movie is. Its clear its gangster because of the scene layout. In the picture you can see people with guns in suits with a lot of money and alcohol around who look like there committing a robbery. Another giveaway is that gangster films made in the 90's or 80's tend to have gangsters with class who were suits with the car and woman and are most likely Italian.
I also like the genre comedy because I love a film that can make you laugh when your angry or upset. The genre comedy is a very popular genre nowadays because a lot of people favor films that can make you laugh rather than scare you. One of my favorite comedy films is Big mommas house. I personally think this is the funniest film to be created and one of the best films to be released ever.
I also like the genre action as i love films that gets you out of your chair full of excitement. My favorite action movie to date is fast and furious. I really enjoy this movie as its very exciting and funny at the same time.
The film I have chosen to analyse is Titanic. The title sequence starts of with titles over moving images and integrates slowly on to titles using animation or/and motion.
There is a clear contrast between the images which are being used and font of the credits. the images are in slow motion with a added sepia filter on them to give a simple but effective tone to the film, whilst the font is very straight bold and simple, this integrates the title sequence.
This also adds a certain harsh tone which disfigures the motion of the pictures, this is done to show the narrative or storyline of the film. It is also done to foreshadow the these harsh events which are going to be present in the filmThe music also compliments the moving images to add a soft tone to the film, it also makes the film dramatic and enhances the atmosphere of the film.
The music also synchronises with moving pictures, this adds tone of the genres of the film (romance) as it creates a mellow atmosphere.
The title 'TITANIC' fades away at the end to foreshadow the plot of the film and to also question the prior knowledge that the audience has about the film and its context. The text is in white and outlined with a gold colour to create a classy feel to the film, the gold especially reminds of the boat/ship as the sepia filter on the previous shots emphasises this.
22 Jump Street (2014) — Art of the Title
The title sequence makes it clear what the genre of the movie is through portraying scenes that are funny and will catch the attention of the viewer. In the title sequence, it shows you the two main characters going undercover in different schools and countries, this reflects the movie because in the movie, there are cops going undercover at a school. It also makes clear the big stars they have featuring such Channing Tatum and Ice cube.
Doctor Who: Series 8 (2014) — Art of the Title
The title sequence has a lot of elements that suggest that its a scifi to do with time as the police box twirls into time. The title sequence contains iconic things such as the theme song and the time tunnel.
Narcos uses a mixture of photo slides and mini clips from both real life events and scenes shot in a studio. The shots last about 5 seconds each and the camera is always moving (zoom or direction) with special effects used to frame the shots with relevant themes (postcards, government files). the titles are traditional, white, block-font type writing which is separate from the actual images. The titles go in order from : -" A Gaumont international television presentation" (studio) - Actors (Wagner Moura, Boyd Holbrook, Pedro Pascal etc.) - "Guest starring" - The producers - The supervising producers - Co-executive producer - Executive producers - Creators - Writers - Director
Donnie Brasco- Macro Analysis-
Marco analysis is also know as syntactic analysis and it gives the audience as general overview about what the actual movie is about and what story is tells. Key Plot-
The key plot introduced is that the main character angry about his situation he is in as it is shown by the close up of his eyes. It also denotes that he is involved with a particular group of gangster as shown by the multiple still images in the sequences. It also shows images of many people being circled or crossed. This shows that he is a cop and he is in a undercover investigation which is trying to find out secret information . This is also portrayed by the multiple images which show the cop watching them and the repetition of all the cross-cuts to this scene shows that it is a crime movie. Story Line-
The story line i introduced from the ending which is also known as the favourite trick of film noir. As it does show Johnny Depp having a demonic the ending which maybe connotes that he has turned rogue which adds to the narrative thread. Characters-
The main two characters introduced are johnny Depp and Al Pacino. hey are both accredited at the beginning with the first 2 starring titles but Johnny Depp is visually introduced first which denotes that he is the main actor and Al Pacino is shown halfway through the opening proving that he is also an essential character but the story line doesn't evolve around him. Social Groups
One social group which is represent is a sort of Italian Mafia group. They are represented stereotypically as it shows them wearing overcoats, suits. hats and glasses. It also shows a group of men having moustaches , smoking, drinking and owning expensive classic cars. These are some of the codes and conventions which are included in crime genre movies but the actors are genre tropes of this particular genre.
Micro Analysis-
Micro analysis is also know as semantic analysis which looks at what is included in the movie which the audience doesn't realise but what ultimately makes it look appealing.
Sound-
The sound in any movie is very important and some say it makes up 50% of the actually movie. In this crime movie sound is used effectively to engage the viewer/ target audience. The movie includes diegetic sound which is sound that we can hear on the set which is plates being put on top of each other and cups being put down. As well as this it uses a sound track on top of the diegetic sound thus using sound layering effectively in the opening sequence. It also uses synchronous sound which is the same tone in in the sound and the visual image. The opening sequence uses synchronous sound throughout the movie.
Mise-en-scene-
This is what is actually the setting of the movie. In the opening title sequence it shows a Cafe you can hear the plates beginning put down and people talking. The props used are Cars, cigarettes and sunglasses. The costumes are mainly suits and hats and the mains characters are Johnny Depp and Al Pacino.
Camera-
There are multiple types of camera shots that are incorporated into this title sequences such as close ups of the main characters eyes, dolly shots of the building that he's is in, medium shots of multiple men across the street, medium shot of the other main actor and a low angel shot of people sitting on a bar.
Editing-
There are multiple editing effects used in the opening title sequence such as dissolving scenes together making the cross cut between scenes almost flawless. There are multiple still images used and put together to create a moving image of the scene which is a technique called 'stop motion'. The speed of the scenes vary from fast and slow speeds and the transitions are that there a multiple uses of dip to black which is integrated which the slow speed music. The editing also uses black and white scenes which cross cut to coloured images.
Title Conventions-
The title sequence is a discrete title sequence due to its secretive nature and the fonts used are mainly white with a size of 14 which is the same for even the title which is unusual and the title credits are integrated as part of the moving image. Order of title credits-

Marco Analysis-
Key Plot-
The key concept or plot introduced is that this is a movie about crime and gangs as it shows a birds eye view shot of the whole location with areas being circled sort of like targets for a heist of some of some sort. It also shows a white substance which is an B class drug being made, sold and transported across the city. This connotes to the viewer that there will be death as the drug industry expands. Overall the key plot is that drugs will be sold and people will be robbed and killed in the country. This hard to grasp concept was introduced in the title sequence.
Storyline-
The story line is introduced to the viewer chronologically. It starts with selling drugs in small amounts in a small part of town then its grows to become a big business expanding across the country. They do go through bumps along the way such as the government and fights between each other but overall the main storyline is expanding their drug cartel business across the country.
Characters-
The main characters are introduced through the credits but not actually shown to the viewer. This also presents the type of title sequence which is a discrete title sequence as it hides the main characters from the audience. This is quiet effective in the title sequence as it also presents the sub- genre in this crime oriented movie which is mystery. Social Groups-
The social group introduced in the movie are a group of Mexican men who are portrayed in a stereotypical manner. They are portrayed as dirty middle aged men who have no job but to work for big drug cartels as a profession. This is very stereotypical for a movie about drugs as it is not much so a convention but a cliché as this is the opinion of the general public and might not be the actually truth about their ethnic group.
Micro Analysis- Sound-
The sound used in this movie is very asynchronous as it shows illegal drug transactions taking place and the song is calming tradition music which denotes that the sound is very asynchronous throughout the title sequence. The sound track put over the sequence is layered very effectively as they put the sound of a guitar on top of the song that is already playing which portrays the rich, cultural ethnic music. As well as this, it connotes that the location of the movie is in a south american country. This also proves how important sound is in a movie as it has shown to make or break peoples title sequences.
Mise-en-scene-
The props used in this movie are drugs, guns ,video recorders, tanks, pictures, planes, suit cases and military gear. The setting is in the favelas near a mountain in the South American country of Mexico. The main actors are Wagner Moura and Boyd Holbrook.
Camera-
There are multiple camera angles used in this movie such as a birds eye view of the location of the movie, a medium shot of the drugs and a Long Shot over the mountains,. They also use a dolly shot across the bedroom while simultaneously getting a close of a female actress in the movie. There are multiple shots of females in this movie who are portrayed sexually. There are multiple close ups of the females lip and hands which may connotes an element of romance.
Editing-
There are a number of scene where there is an image of a photograph and they zoom into the image with editing effects. They also use very smooth transition such as dip to black which is very effective when used correctly and dissolving the scenes together. In the editing area they also used a an effect whereby they turned the plain image of the blank screen into a scene were it is blue and red. Another effect they use effectively on their title is fade in as the present the title which is 'Narcos'.
Title Conventions-
The movie uses a discrete title sequence and I can tell this because it shows elements of the narrative thread but it shows irrelevant characters( i.e. the females) but not the main characters which indicates to me that this is a discrete title sequence. The fonts also used are a white, Arial font with a size of approximately 12 where they title is big, white and bold with a font size of 24. Also the titles are integrated with the moving image.

Key Plot
The key plot introduced is that Fidel Castro let his harbour open where he allowed the Cuban people to leave to join their relatives in the USA. But instead of just sending 125,000 people, 25,000 of those people were criminals which denotes to the reader that movie has a main genre of crime as the refugees metaphorically represent the conflict between the two neighbouring countries.
Story Line
The story line is introduced chronologically as it starts of with the narration which says that the Cuban people are going to transported by boat to the American shores to join their relatives in the neighbouring country.
Character
The main character is 'Al Pacino' who is shown just before the title on the screen and after the possessory credits but he is not actually shown on the screen which is only giving the audience a hint of the narrative thread urging the audience to watch on. The other 4 characters are shown together on one title screen which shows that they are not that significant actors in the movie which connotes that the movie is based on the main character. Social Group
One of the social group that are presented in the opening title sequence is a group of Cuban refugees. Even though they are not shown in a positive manner they are neither portrayed negatively or stereotypical. This is because the main actor is a criminal dreg from Cuba and by having a balanced opinion about the refugees makes the audience feel like they can choose whether they like the character or not and not to be force fed that they should dislike the actor.
Micro Analysis- Sound-
Sound plays a major role in the opening title sequence of the movie. When the ident is about to come onto the a very mysterious non-diegetic sound plays which is synchronous with the visual scene as the audience doesn't actually know what is going to happen or appear. There is also on-diegetic sound playing throughout the narration which denotes that the story doesn't have a positive ending. You can also hear the thundering sound in the background as Fidel Castro is giving a very aggressive speech which is also synchronous with the non-diegetic sound. When Fidel Castro is speaking its is diegetic sound and this sound type conveys that there may be an unbalance in the equilibrium of the movie and there might be an anti climax.
Editing
Not much editing is used in the title sequence and the few editing techniques used are fast tempo music to denote that it is and action movie, the ident coming towards the camera lens giving it a zoomed in effect and black and white scenes.

The type of this title sequence is a narrative title sequence as it tells the viewer what the location is, what's the year and situation to give the viewer enough information to view on and understand the opening. This gives the viewer a hint and persuades the m to view on. The title credits are separate from the moving image which is understandable as the movie did come out in the 1980's. The font colour used in the credits is of a red tone. This connotes that there will be bloodshed and violence in this movie which can also be decoded from the title. The title and the main credits had a font size of about 18 while the narrative information has a font size of 12.
At the start of the film, we see a floating feather. We can hear a soft tune on the piano; there is a relaxing tune playing. We are introduced to the characters in this opening when the camera following the feather floats past Forrest. Apart from the setting and slight clues of the time period we aren't given too much information about the plot of the film.Title credits appear on the screen one after the other as the camera follows the feather.
The opening of the film starts with the "universal" studio intro which then transitioned into a bird's eye view of a chest which is opened up. The typography appears in the horizontally box which makes it seem as if the text is a part of the opening. Although the genre isn't clear, there is a mysterious atmosphere where the audience can't tell exactly what is going on. We can infer that the film is filmed a long time ago because of the camera quality and it being in black and white.
Kyle Cooper is a man who is famous for "single-handedly" revitalising title sequences as an art form. He is responsible for the title sequences of films like "dawn of the dead" and "seven". He believes that a good title sequence must set an expectation for the audience about the film, it must excite the audience and must make the audience want to watch the rest of the film. Cooper also says that the "story based" title sequence is one that leads into the film and gives the general theme of the film. However, after an audience testing, the studio might encounter problems such as not having sufficient funding while the audience might not understand what is happening.
Title sequences are found at the start of a film. They usually include both text and footage together. I have learnt that title sequences can be used as an extremely effective way to both foreshadow what is to come in the film with clues to the genre, setting and sounds but can also give us a glimpse into what has happened in the story before the start of the film. An effective title sequence will do one of these things. Title sequences are also set up in different ways unique to the genre of the film, e.g, the typology and how it fits the footage in the background (do they complement each other or are they in contrasting formats?). Film openings can be very important to the audience in order to 'set the scene' in terms of what else is going to happen. For example, in the film "seven" the typography for the names of the people involved with the film was written as if it were handwriting, which added extra eeriness and related to the film.
There was a lot of panning around the animation; the majority of the shots were close up which varied in distance.
Mise-en-scene
There is a minimal amount of Mise-en-scene - it was a very simplistic yet, effective. The title sequence only consisted of two elements; an animation and the background. The background was plain white and the animation was of a person forming from a red liquid (inferring that it was blood) which gives the idea of what we expect will happen and what genre it is.
Editing
On the onset of the title sequence it fades in from a black background. Then, for each shot the cuts are very sharp also, there is a drum in the score which corresponds to sharp cuts.
Sound
The sound was effectively used to give a eerie and dangerous ambience. This was done through the use of a drone which faded in on the onset of the film correspondingly to the fade in on the video.
Macro Analysis
Form the title sequence, I can infer that it has something to do with death, crime or murder this is shown through the use of the Person forming in a (inferred) blood. This means that the only way the storyline is revealed is through the blood animation and the characters are not even introduced in this sequence. It is difficult to infer what social groups are represented however, we can infer that there is some sort of negative representation.

Macro Analysis
Form the title sequence, I can infer that it has something to do with death, survival and the "end of the world." This is shown through the use of dark colours both in the setting and the text. The storyline is introduced when is shows something at the door trying to get in the door know is shaken. Broken objects, eerie places and shattered glass shows there is something evil and/or there has been attack.

The Walking Dead
This is a stylized title sequence because of the setting and how each shot was blurry and dark. The fonts were very dark in colour to go with the overall theme and for each name the first name is normal and second name is bold. In the last shot where it says "The Walking Dead" it is bold and white.

The feedback from my blogging was very positive from my perspective as I attained a mark of 14 which worked out to be a Grade B. My feedback was that I should keep up with my blogging tasks and to not blog in chronological order but to put like blogs together. This makes sure that it represents my organisational skill accurately.
Thomas Sutcliffe says "films need to seduce their audience into long term commitment. While there are many types of seduction, the temptation to go far instant arousal is almost irresistible". What he means is that the film openings are very important as the audience expectations are needed to be met for all genres.
Director Jean Jacques Beineix argues that the risks of instant arousal is that the viewers often have high expectations of a film due to a good beginning but by the end of the film they feel let down because the beginning had so much time and money put into it that the end comes out disappointing because so much time and money was put into the beginning . They wanted to draw attention in the beginning but because of instant arousal the audience were pleased in the end.
The reason why"A good beginning must make the audience feel that it doesn't know nearly enough yet and at the same time make sure that it doesn't know too little" is in order to keep the audience excited. They give away enough of the plot to show the audience and this will allow them to gain interest, however they do not give away too much.
Critic Stanley Kaufman describes as the classic opening, it shows the reality of the setting and everyday life which makes it more reliable as the audience feel like they can almost relate.
Kyle Coopers title sequence to the film Seven so effective as it illustrates what is going to happen in the films, notebooks and pictures.
Orson Welles wanted to achieve with his opening to the film A touch of Evil " All in one" take, the universal studio put music and the sequence over the orginal clip
Our group made the decision that 2 people should direct and 2 people should act. Kadeem and Abdul(Me) did the video recording an directed the scenes, while Onat and Abdi acted as Tom Cruise and Jason Statham. We made this decision as we thought that Kadeem and I would have a better behind the scenes input, whereas Abdi and Onat would be more suited to the acting role. We also made the decision that all of our group would get a chance to edit and put the remake together. Script-
The script was actually quiet hard to understand as there was a lot of dialogue missing such as "You all right" and "Don't worry about it". This caused a lot of problems in the remake as what we were saying didn't actually correlate to the opening scene of 'Collateral'.
StoryBoard
Our group's storyboard was drawn by 'Onat Arslan' who's very accurate and detailed in his illustrations. We drew freeze frames of the main scenes in the opening of 'Collateral' and this helped to guide us in the production of our remake.
Shot list
Our groups shot list was very complex and it consisted of medium shots, close up shots, low angle shots and tracking shots. We had to continuously change the angle and type of shot for just 30 seconds of the remake, which seemed like a lot of work for such a short piece. However I feel like in the end the hard work would of paid off, and the editing would hopefully bring it together as we would be match cut the scenes making it look seamless.

The genre with the most film releases was Comedy with 153 films made in 2013-14.
There was 33 Animated movies made with 47 action movies made.
This information tells me that comedy made the most films, but it didn't technically make the most gross. It also told me that Animation had the larger audience as it released the least of the top 3 but still made the most gross.

There is a recurring order in the which we see the title credits. This list isn't accurate for all movies as each movie is different however this is the overall pattern we see across he board for all movies. Order of the Credits
Ident (Studio Names)
Production Company
Possessory Credits ( Usually the director)
Starring Main actors
Other Credits ( Music, Designer, Producer)
Movie Name
Base on a true story/book
Written By
Directed by
Length, Font size and style
The length of the credits usually differ from person to person. If it is the title of the movie the length of the credits would usually be across the screen, in big, bold writing with an extra large font size which would usually be around 18-24 depending on the length of the titles names. The title of the movie would usually be on the screen for around about 5 to 10 seconds as it is one of the most important credits in any movie. You cannot start a movie without first having a title and building up from there. People such as the music producer, would have a credit of approximately 2-4 seconds long, with a much smaller font size of around 12 and the style being in normal and not bold. What I can conclude from the titles in title sequences is that you credit is dependant on you position or stature in the movie as the most important credits such as the director would have a big bold title but for people such as the costume designer who isn't as important wont be shown as long. Overall it's dependant on the role you had making the movie.
There are multiple genre convention in the genre of crime. Usually in crime there are many actors that are almost genre tropes of this particular genre. For example Robert De Niro and Al Pacino are genre tropes of crime as they have starred in multiple classic movies of this genre such as 'Scarface' and 'taxi driver'. This has proven to be right as each action movie they star in is most likely going to be a crime. A few more conventions of this genre that we have seen in the film opening are men with suits, guns and alcohol which are all generic signifiers of this genre.
Action-
There are also a variety of genre tropes for action movies that I have seen in the opening title sequence. There are multiple actors such as Vin Diesel and Sylvester Stallone which are male actor who appear frequently in action based movies. Other Generic signifiers that I have seen are usually thrilling and eye catching scenes such as gun shots, flying people and car chase scenes. Most action based movies start of with on of these clichés which is basic but also very effective.
Mystery-
This genre doesn't have many actors that are sorely based or known for there movies in the mystery genre. Even though this is true, mystery still has many genre tropes in the beginning of its title sequences. It usually contains a very ominous background, weird and unusual occurrences and jaw dropping moments. In the movie 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' there was a sort of platinum element which cover the body of this human however it was baffling and it was hard to understand the first time so you have to watch it carefully, multiple times.
