RESEARCH-BP16 Camtasia Video

Hot Fuzz Analysis of sound

Hot Fuzz has multiple sound types in the main title sequence. I have chosen Hot Fuzz to analyse as my genre  genre choice for my production is Crime, Mystery and Action and I have recently focused more on the crime and mystery aspect but not the action genre so I choose to analyse a more action based movie so i can learn the genre trope of action movies so I can make my production as flawless as possible.
Diegetic Sound-
The title sequence first starts of with the main character 'Simon Pegg' opening the door and walking through. This is an example of ambient sound because it was the general atmospheric sound that every one was going to hear. However it hay also be Foley  sound as they added extra emphasis on his walk.
Voice-over-
The title sequence is clearly a narrative title sequence as it gives you a back story about the main character from when he was young to the present in about 2 minutes which gives the viewer plenty of crucial information to continue watching the remainder of the movie and it used match cutting to mould the scenes together. The narration in media terminology is called a voice-over.

Synchronous-
When Simon Pegg is walking by, the sound and the scene have a very similar tempo and thus showing that it is very synchronised. It starts of with Simon Pegg walking and you have a background sound of a drum beat and as the scene changes the music changes as the directors use editing to the beat to keep the viewer aroused. The non-diegetic sound used to denote that the scene is changing is very effective as the viewer knows when it is going to change giving them a sense of visceral,

Sound Layering-
In the movie the song in the background is used to mix with the voice-over of the main character.to keep the viewer amazed. This is very successful as it gives the viewer a sense of visceral as it make it seems as if they were actually thee. This is really effective as it makes sure that the viewer stays interested and it also introduces them to the genre of the movie which is pure action.
