Kyle Coopers opinion on a good title sequence.
Kyle Cooper is the man who is recognised for revitalising the main title sequence as an art form. The New York Times even said that it was one of the most important graphical innovation when he made the title sequence for the movie seven.
Kyle thinks that a good title sequence must dove tail seamlessly into the movie. It is some sort of bridge between reality and the film itself. He also thinks that it should set an expectation for the full movie. It should make people curious about what is going to happen and make them want to be no where else but the cinema seat.
FONT-
The font in the movie 'Seven' is handwritten which looks quiet sketchy. It metaphorically translates how sadistic and psychopathic the person is who turns out to be a killer
Reasons for Liking these movies title sequences-
Dead zones Title Sequence -
- Music is very mysterious
- Realise his interest for graphic design/title sequence

- Shows characters obsessions
- Beautifully Photographed
- Type was integrated with the moving image
- Marbles distort the background
A 'story based' title sequences has a specific back story and it adds a hint to the narrative thread.
Many studios might face many problems after an audience test screening such as not having enough budget to do another scene or the test audience becomes confused with what's happening
Furthermore the 2 and a half minute of the title sequence advances the plot of the movie and gives major hint about what is going to happen and it gives the viewer an indication to its genre. Ultimately it gives the viewer the information needed to watch the movie which is the problem with audience test screening as not enough information is provided.
Dawn of the deads title sequence tries to give the audience a major clue to watch the plot is and the sequence at the end gives the movie a dark horrible ending which advances the plot to the next movie
Overall Kyle Cooper thinks that titles are hugely important to the movie as it tells a back story to what it is about and without a title sequence it would be less likely to engage the viewer.
