Introduction Blog Post 2- Evaluation of Prelim

Evaluation of Preliminary Task

In my Prelim I have developed multiple skills such as making a storyboard and planing on who is doing what in the task. Our group made sure we knew who had which role in the production of the film sequence such as the actors and the directors.
I have had practise on making different types of shots such as close ups and doing the shot reverse shot which was very tricky in an enclosed area. When I edited I had practise doing cross cuts and match cuts which I tried to make as smooth as possible so it looked flawless.
The production of the film was mainly positive but there were still elements which we as a group need to improve on. We did reasonably well when someone opened the door however due to the door being stuck; we relied on match cutting to make it be smooth which was one of our strong points in the production. There wasn't really much flaws however our timing does need to improve which is something that I will take on-board.
In the production I was particularly good at the filming aspect such as doing the the close ups and also in the editing which I tried to match cut and cross cut the scenes. However my free hand could of been more still in the close up shots and I could of added more effects such as slow motion in the editing process.
If I was to do it again I would try to not have people in the background as it does look unprofessional and also the conversation should of had more energy to hook the person watching and not just two people talking. The storyboarding did help us to know what we were doing and it really keeps the production organised and focused and the shot lists helped us remember what to include in the production. hook the person watching and not just two people talking. The storyboarding did help us to know what we were doing and it really keeps the production organised, focused and concise and the shot lists helped us remember what to include in the production which made the process much more efficient.
